Vehicles in German Town Found Smeared with Nazi Symbols in Human Blood, Law Enforcement Report

Authorities reported they were contacted by a man who found a automobile in Hanau smeared with red-colored liquid

Roughly fifty cars have been marked with what appears to be human bodily fluid in the German municipality of Hanau near Frankfurt, according to authorities.

Cars, walls and postboxes were defaced, sometimes with Nazi symbols, they stated in a release.

Law enforcement state they were alerted in the late hours on Wednesday night, when a resident noticed that a automobile in the Lamboy neighborhood of Hanau had been smeared with a red-colored substance.

The substance had been applied in the shape of a banned symbol, they reported.

Law enforcement then discovered multiple other marked automobiles and residential walls in the nearby vicinity.

These symbols are banned in Germany under regulations outlawing the public display of symbols from the Nazi era.

Officials report preliminary tests indicate the liquid was likely blood from a person.

"At present there remains no indication as to where it came from; investigators are not yet aware of any injuries in relation with the occurrence," they commented.

City officials said they were trying "to resolve the case" and have appealed to the residents for information.

A high-ranking official stated the incident left him without words and had to be addressed promptly.

"This act hits the core of Hanau and reopens the trauma of the far-right terrorist attack half a decade ago," he stated on online, recalling the murder of nine individuals by a gunman focusing on people of foreign heritage in five years prior.
